Polk Sheriff Seeks Auburndale Woman In Theft Of Child's Bike

Polk County Sheriff's deputies are searching for an Auburndale woman accused of stealing a child's bicycle from the Polk City Library July 2

POLK CITY, FL -- Polk County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for an Auburndale woman accused of stealing a child’s bicycle from the Polk City Library Monday, July 2.

According to the sheriff’s office, the 12-year-old boy rode his bike to the library at 214 S. Bougainvillea Ave, parked it next to a tree and entered the library at about 12:40 p.m.

A short time later, a woman identified as Kourtini Jean Wheeler is seen on surveillance video reportedly stealing the bike.

Wheeler is white, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, 135 pounds with a thin build and blonde hair.

Several tipsters called the sheriff’s office with her name after the video was posted on the sheriff’s Facebook page.

In the meantime, a Polk County couple donated a new bike to the 12-year-old along with a bike lock so he can secure his bike from now on.
