Polk Sheriff Arrests Winter Haven Homicide Suspect

Detectives have arrested 36-year-old James Steven "Spooky" Williams, accused of shooting two men.

WINTER HAVEN, FL -- Detectives with the Polk County Sheriff's Office have arrested a man accused of shooting and killing 23-year-old Nasir Sutton and critically injuring 38-year-old Bennie Joyner on Sunday, June 10, at 6:22 p.m.

The sheriff's office arrested 36-year-old James Steven "Spooky" Williams, who lived (on and off) with the victims.

Deputies responded to a reported shooting at 1098 Carefree Cove Drive, Winter Haven, where they discovered Sutton dead with at least one gunshot wound. Joiner was also shot and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Detectives determined that Williams got into an argument with the two men, pulled out a handgun and reportedly shot both men.
