'Purge Your Pills & Shred Your Stuff' Event In Winter Haven
Winter Haven police is giving the public a chance to shred confidential paper information and dispose of pills at its annual event.
WINTER HAVEN, FL — If you have a stack of mail you've been meaning to shred or a bottle of prescription pills that you no longer need, you can properly dispose of these items at the Winter Haven Police Department's annual "Purge Your Pills & Shred Your Stuff" event.
There is no limit to the amount of mail or prescription pills you wish you to bring, and you do not have to be a Winter Haven resident. Staff from the Winter Haven Police Department will be available to help with shredding of mail and disposing of pills.
Winter Haven police said this is not a service for businesses.

The event was initially planned for April but was postponed to October 24, officials said.
You can take advantage of this free service from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 24 at the Winter Haven Police Department, 125 N. Lake Silver Dr., NW.
