Registered Sex Predator Arrested For Masturbating At Park

LAKELAND, FL -- Lakeland Police arrested a registered sex predator for masturbating at a park with children playing nearby.

Police were called to Barnett Park on Lake Avenue South July 15 after a woman reported seeing a man masturbating about 45 feet from children.

The man left by the time police arrived but the witness was able to show them photos of the man taken on her cell phone. Police were able to identify the man as Danny Torres Valentin, 59, of Dawn Heights Drive, Lakeland, who was on inmate release status with an ankle monitor after being convicted for lewd and lascivious exhibition to minors.

He was arrested at his home and charged with loitering and prowling in close proximity to children and violation of probation.
