Surplus Textbook Warehouse Reopens After Coronavirus Closure
The textbook warehouse in Bartow has reopened since closing its doors in March because of the coronavirus pandemic.
BARTOW, FL — The Polk County Public Schools' Textbook Warehouse reopened its doors on Thursday since being closed in March as a response to the coronavirus pandemic, said a news release.
The warehouse offers free books to the public, which include textbooks for different school subjects and grade levels, discontinued library books and pre-K early reading materials. The staff does ask that a precaution, all visitors to wear a mask and practice social distancing while inside the warehouse.
Employees might have to limit the number of visitors at one time in the establishment to prevent from crowding, and staff members are sanitizing the book carts.

They plan to have the warehouse open every Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (closed from 11:30 a.m. to noon for lunch.)
Due to the warehouse's limited staff and resources, members of the public are welcome to come browse the available inventory, but they are not able to respond to phone or online inquiries to locate or hold specific items.
