Suspicious Package In Winter Haven Proves To Be Forgotten Order
A suspicious package that looked similar to the mail bombs sent to prominent liberals prompted the evacuation of the Polk Sheriff's Office.

WINTER HAVEN, FL -- A suspicious package that looked similar to the mail containing pipe bombs sent to prominent liberals prompted the evacuation of the Polk County Sheriff's Office Monday, Oct. 29.
A Winter Haven woman received the package addressed to her in her mailbox and thought it was suspicious because it had multiple stamps and did not have a return address.
The package was a commercial-type padded-style manila envelope similar to those used to mail the pipe bombs. She drove the package to the Polk County Sheriff's Central District office located at 3635 Avenue G N.W., Winter Haven.

Out of an abundance of caution, the office was evacuated, and Avenue G from 42nd to 34th Street was closed. Polk County Hazmat and the Hillsborough County Bomb Squad responded to the scene and discovered the package contained an item that the woman had forgotten she ordered.
