SWAT Team Arrests Bartow Man After 7-Hour Standoff: Police
Bartow Police called in the Polk County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team when a Bartow man barricaded himself in his apartment.

BARTOW, FL – Bartow Police called in the Polk County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team when a Bartow man barricaded himself in his apartment following a domestic dispute.
At about 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, the Bartow Police Department received a call about a domestic violence incident in the 1100 block of Britts Lane in Bartow.
After speaking with the victim and getting her medical aid for her injuries, police officers attempted to contact Joshua Pellegrino, 41. Police said Pellegrino refused to speak with police except to say he was armed and would not be taken into custody. He then barricaded himself inside his apartment.

Bartow Police evacuated surrounding apartments while continuing to try to speak with Pellegrino.
Following a seven-hour standoff, SWAT entered the apartment at 11:55 p.m. and took Pellegrino into custody.

Pellegrino received minor injuries during the arrest and was transported for medical treatment.
He’s been charges with felony battery domestic violence, burglary and resisting officers.
