Deputies are still attempting to locate the passenger who fled on foot in a Plant City neighborhood. [BREAKING]

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A 16-year-old from Plant City was apprehended Sunday after allegedly ramming a stolen car into a Hillsborough County Sheriff's vehicle in a neighborhood cul-de-sac and fleeing on foot, along with a passenger who is still on the lam, according to officials.

Deputies, informed at approximately 1:10 p.m. that a stolen Chrysler was in the Plant City area of Turkey Creek and Connell roads, saw the car turning into the Walden Lake Subdivision.

The vehicle reportedly turned onto Alcott Drive, then onto Kilmer Drive, which is a dead-end with a roundabout, the agency said. As deputies approached the roundabout, the Chrysler turned around and drove head-on toward the marked patrol vehicle, first stopping then accelerating and intentionally striking the patrol car, deputies said. The driver and his passenger then fled the car and ran north.

Deputies chased the teen, who was behind the wheel and who reportedly ignored verbal commands to stop, a short distance behind a residence on the 3300 block of Kilmer Drive. The suspect then stopped and turned toward a deputy "with an unknown intent" and an "aggressive stance," while still ignoring commands to get on the ground, the department said.

A deputy "deployed his electronic control device, striking the suspect in the right bicep and chest area, with positive results. The suspect fell to the ground and became compliant to verbal commands," the Sheriff's Office said.
