LAKELAND, FLA — Two brothers with an extensive criminal background along with a local woman were recently arrested in connection with a series of burglaries of vehicles that took place last week in Lakeland.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested Henry Harrison, 26, Joseph Harrison, 25, and Joseph’s girlfriend, Robin Rent, 22. The trio were charged in connection with the burglaries which took place in the early-morning hours in the areas of Daugherty Drive and Crafton Drive in unincorporated Lakeland, police said.

Local residents alerted deputies to the fact that two suspicious men were walking around the area around 4:41 a.m. earlier this month attempting to open vehicle doors. While police were searching for suspects, deputies stopped a ride-share driver and found two men matching the description of the suspects in the car.

Police said that the men were identified as Henry and Joseph Harrison and were in possession of merchandise reported stolen from the vehicles. The men were also in possession of a handgun, police said.

Joseph Harrison was not wearing shoes at the time and police found one of his shoes near the home of one of the victims, police said. The other shoe was located outside of Rent’s home. In an interview with police, Rent admitted to being out with the two men all night.

“Great descriptions by alert witnesses and a quick response by deputies led to the capture of the three suspects involved, and they’re facing some pretty serious charges,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. “Two of them are brothers with quite the criminal histories, so their family might not have to save them a spot at the table for Thanksgiving dinner.”

Joseph Harrison was charged with five counts of armed burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of petit theft. Harrison has previously been convicted of 19 felonies and 11 misdemeanors and spent two years in state prison between 2017-19.
