The victim went back to his motel room to get drugs for the men, and he told the witness that he had a "bad feeling" he was going to be robbed during the transaction. The witness watched as the victim went back to the parking lot and saw him talking to the people inside an older model white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
The witness then saw a black man inside the truck shoot the victim, then the truck left the scene. The truck was last seen heading south on US Hwy 27 towards Haines City.
Another witness working nearby on a construction site also saw the shooting and the suspect vehicle. A partial tag number was obtained.
