WINTER HAVEN, FL -- A 33-year-old Winter Haven man is facing more than 80 charges after a Polk County Sheriff's Office investigation into an allegation he got a minor teen girl pregnant twice.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives obtained an arrest warrant on June 22 for James McArthur Johnson for impregnating a child under 16 and two counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a minor.
Detectives say Johnson had an ongoing relationship with the teen and got her pregnant twice. They say the girl’s second pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage. That's when her parents became aware of the relationship and contacted the sheriff's office.

Deputies say they went to Johnson’s home to arrest him and saw Johnson handing something in a small baggy to a man who rode up to his house on a bike.
Deputies spoke to the bicyclist, who allegedly said Johnson sold him some synthetic marijuana. Deputies then saw another person approach the home and conduct a similar transaction. That person told deputies that Johnson is a known drug dealer and possesses several firearms.

• 9.7 grams of heroin
• 0.1 gram meth
• $760 cash
• Photos of the child he fathered with the victim, and the hospital band belonging to the victim from when she delivered the baby.

Johnson has already served time in state prison on three occasions. He is being held without bond. Johnson is a convicted felon, and has been to state prison three times on charges ranging from armed robber, burglary, grand theft and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was released from prison in 2014.
"This is a violent, dangerous man. We hope his next trip to state prison is a lengthy one - he clearly does not know how to obey any law. He's what you call a true menace to society,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
