Winter Haven Police Officer Fires At 2 Men Exchanging Gunfire
Both men were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
WINTER HAVEN, FL — The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Winter Haven that occurred Tuesday.
Winter Haven police officers responded to a call about a disturbance at 270 Kings Pond Ave. at 11:31 a.m.
One officer was speaking to a witness at the scene when two men came out of a house across the street and started shooting at each other, according to Winter Haven police. The officer fired his gun in the direction of the men because they were posing a danger to the public.

Both men were injured and given aid by officers at the scene and then were taken to the hospital.
It's unknown if the men were shot by one another or the officer.

The Tenth Judicial Circuit Task Force, overseen by the Polk County Sheriff's Office, is handling the investigation.
