Winter Haven Surgery Center Closed Following Fire
A Winter Haven surgery center was evacuated Wednesday night, Aug. 8, after a fire started in an office.

WINTER HAVEN, FL – A Winter Haven surgery center was evacuated Wednesday night, Aug. 8, after a fire started in an office.
Four engines and one tower truck from the Winter Haven Fire Department responded to a call of smoke coming from the roof of the Winter Haven Surgery Center, 325 Ave. B N.W., Winter Haven, at about 6:50 p.m.
When units arrived, smoke was coming from air-conditioning units so a tower truck was deployed to reach the roof.

Firefighters determined the fire started in an interior office directly off of the front lobby.
Damage was primarily contained to the office with minimal damage to adjoining areas. However, due the smoke, the business is closed until the air can completely be cleared.

Anyone who had scheduled appointments at the facility should contact the center directly to reschedule.
Nobody was injured during the fire.
