Zephyrhills Woman Killed in U.S. 41 Crash Identified

Two from Lutz and Tampa were seriously injured in the two-vehicle wreck near Horton Road. [Breaking]

LAND O' LAKES, FL – A 52-year-old motorist from Zephyrhills was killed and two others, from Lutz and Tampa, were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon along U.S. 41 near Horton Road in the Land O'Lakes area.

Deanna M. Bahler was identified as the victim and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Bahler was driving a 2003 Honda Accord west on Horton shortly before 4:30 p.m. when she entered the intersection and collided with a truck traveling north on U.S. 41.

Bahler's passenger, a 24-year-old Lutz man, and a passenger in the truck, a female, 21 from Tampa, suffered serious injuries and were transported to St. Joseph's Hospital,

The driver of the truck, a 34-year-old Spring Hill man, was uninjured, according to authorities.

The roadway was blocked in both directions for hours Tuesday evening from Barcellona Road to Ehren Cutoff, reopening at about 9:15 p.m., according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Troopers said impaired driving was not a factor in the collision.
