1 Dead, 3 Seriously Injured In Crash On U.S. 41

LAND O’ LAKES, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred around midnight Thursday, May 3, at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Little Lake Road in Pasco County.

Troopers say a Chrysler van driven by Johnny L. Albritton, 44, of Spring Hill was traveling north on U.S. 41 just south of Little Lake Road.

David Suarez Gonzalez, 74, of Tampa was driving his Hyundai south on U.S. 41 and Karrissa L. Gromoll, 21, of Clearwater was driving a Chevrolet directly behind Gonzalez.

For unknown reasons, Albritton veered into the southbound lane and struck Gonzalez’ car. Gromoll swerved right to avoid the accident and struck two trees.

Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene. Gromoll, Albritton and Alejandro Arroyo, a passenger in Gonzalez’ car, sustained serious injures and were transported to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point.
