37-Year-Old Woman Shot, Killed In Zephyrhills

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says a 37-year-old sustained fatal gunshot wounds shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, April 5, in Zephyrhills.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says a 37-year-old sustained fatal gunshot wounds shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, April 5, in Zephyrhills.

Deputies say Brandy Contreras of 37325 Gaskin Ave., Dade City, showed up at the home of Jessie Ellison, 36, 39829 Otis Allen Road, with a group of people. Ellison said Contreras threatened him and he shot her in self-defense.

She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Contreras has a lengthy arrest record including resisting arrest, grand theft, domestic violence, petit theft, drug possession and battery.

Ellison is cooperating with the investigation and no arrest has been made.

The sheriff's office would like to speak to three witnesses who accompanied Contreras. They have no known addresses. They are: Timothy Dawson, 33, who is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and black hair and brown eyes; Nathan Thomas Patz, 32, who is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 215 pounds and has blond hair and blue eyes; and Jeanette Borders, 32, no description.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of any of these witnesses is asked to call 911 immediately.
