Arts Lovers Asked to Get Their Hands Dirty
Volunteers are still needed for the Suncoast Arts Fest.

Love art? Enjoy pitching in to help the community? If so, organizers of the seventh annual Suncoast Arts Fest want you!
Pam Marron, the festivalβs co-director, said volunteers are needed to do everything from helping booth sit for artists to delivering snacks to participants during the event.
βItβs a fun festival,β said Marron. βWhile theyβre volunteering (they can) enjoy great art and great entertainment. Stuff is going to be happening everywhere.β

The Suncoast Arts Fest is a two-day juried show that takes place at The Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel. The festival runs Jan. 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It draws more than 100 artists from all over the Tampa Bay area and beyond, Marron said. Many artists travel from other states to take part in the show, she added. It also pulls in nearly 100,000 spectators.
In addition to works of fine arts and crafts, the show features live entertainment throughout its run, Marron said.

βItβs an incredibly festive event to volunteer at,β she said. βThe work isnβt hard. Itβs fun the whole time, plus thereβs good food there.β
Anyone interested in volunteering can email volpasco2012@gmail.com or call 727-247-6182. Marron asks that volunteers be over 16. Students will receive community service hours for their assistance, she said.
More information about volunteering is available on the Suncoast Arts Festβs website.
