Bay Area Towns Named Best for Young Families

When it comes to the best places in Florida for young families to settle down, three communities in the Tampa Bay area rank the highest, according to a new study released by NerdWallet.com.

Wesley Chapel, Lutz and Valrico all rank in the Top 10 while other towns, such as Land O’ Lakes, Apollo Beach, Riverview and Trinity also scored high.

To arrive at its findings, NerdWallet looked at such factors as home affordability, family incomes, educational quality and family friendliness. Data was crunched for 180 places in Florida, including cities, towns and census-designated places. Only communities with more than 10,000 residents were considered.

Here are the communities that ranked at the top of the list:

2. Oveido
3. Wesley Chapel
4. Winter Garden
5. Weston
6. Valrico
7. Lutz
8. Lynn Haven
9. South Miami
10. Royal Palm Beach
