Bugs Are 'Attacking' Pasco Trees
Pasco trees are covered this summer with web-spinning insects. Find out if they will cause damage to Oaks, Crape Myrtle and other landscape trees.

New and seasoned gardeners alike are concerned about silky webbing that is coating tree trunks and larger branches. Easily mistaken for damaging caterpillar webs, this web-building insect actually isn't bad for our trees at all.
Bark Louse (or Psocid - pronounced Sew’ syd) is a small insect that is beneficial to the tree, cleaning little bits of organic matter from the nooks and crannies of the bark.
As Psocids mature, the insects move out of their protective webbing, develop wings and move on. Within a week or two, the web disappears.
