Doctor's In: Final Comment to Samuel Clemens

Final response to Samuel Clemens

I'll say this, you are definitely not a right winger or a left winger.  You're just mad and for good reason.  Eric was right in suggesting the need for a third party.  However, the money that it would take to raise it from the ashes is astronomical. So we are stuck with Rs & Ds and you are right in suggesting that to often the same money goes to both parties.  The rich are very good at protecting themslves.  Sometimes they are so good that they cut themselves off at the knees.  Crush the consumer class, allow the gap between the rich and the poor to widen further, and that is exactly what will happen.  One percent, no matter how rich can't keep any economy going.  Solutions have a way of presenting themselves, sometimes unfortunately with violence.  The number crunchers (Ivory Tower) are unable to factor that into the equation.

As for the dollar going the way of the German Mark. I don't think so.  I have an old saying, the U.S. has a great Constitution, it has survived its worst politicians.  When I write my published editorials, if I rant to much the editor will say, aside from all your bad news, what are the SOLUTIONS you are suggesting.

You're points are well taken but I continue to bet on America and in spite of much evidence that Obama has not attained all that I would like,  I still would not change horses in midstream.  And yes there are similarities between RomneyCare and ObamaCare.  Much of what Obama wanted - Medicare for 55 and older and/or a Public option, were killed by an entrenched R party and Blue Nose Democrats. The Rs made it very clear they would stop whatever Obama wanted.  They wanted him out of office from day one. That's a story for another day.  RyanCare Vs. ObamaCare there are serious differences, see my blog post.

The final comment, are pundits like us going to stab the country to death with all the terrible criticism or push to recommend directions that would improve the current state of affaires.  Obama has gotten quite a bit done.  Hopefully in a second term more will be accomplished.  The sky has not fallen just yet.
