- You are more prone to keep it off when you lose it slower.
- It shows you are not losing it by quick, unsustainable methods.
- Your skin has time to rebound, so you don’t have a lot of sagging skin.
- It’s easier on your heart and other organs to lose weight more slowly.
Be encouraged even when you see only 1 pound difference! Get excited! Tell yourself, “That is GREAT and I am right on track!”

Also keep in mind if you are doing resistance training where you are toning your muscles then the scale is not going to reflect as much weight loss either. However, it doesn’t mean you aren’t losing fat.
Think of it like this: 1 pound of muscle is like the size of tangerine and 1 pound of fat is like the size of grapefruit so your body can change more by the look and feel of it then it does by the scale. Go by how your clothes feel and how different your body looks, not just by the scale. And DON’T weigh yourself every day; that can be very frustrating and addicting. Shoot for no more than once a week.
