Mulieri doesnβt intend to sit in the kennel alone, however. Her rescue dog Calvin will also be at her side.
Saturdayβs event kicks off a weekend of free adoptions at the Land Oβ Lakes shelter. People who stop by between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. June 1 and between 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday, June 2, can take home a cat or a dog at no charge.
The goal for summer adoptions is 811. Reaching that number could help the county win the ASPCAβs Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. The winner of that contest gets $100,000 to help with shelter needs.
Animal Services is located at 19640 Dogpatch Lane in Land Oβ Lakes.
