Construction Worker Killed In Lutz Crash

The Largo man was working on County Line Road Wednesday morning when he was struck by a car.

LUTZ, FL — A 59-year-old Largo man is dead following a crash on County Line Road in Pasco County Wednesday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2012 Toyota Prius driven by Kimberleigh Rice, 33, of Tampa was headed eastbound on County Line Road, east of Cypress Creek Road, around 8:38 a.m. As Rice approached the Interstate 75 overpass, Jaime Leyva Prawl of Largo was working on bridge maintenance in the area.

Troopers say Prawl was standing on the eastbound right shoulder of County Line Road when he was struck by the passenger’s side of Rice’s Prius.

Prawl was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment, but later died from his injuries

Charges are pending further investigation.
