I've found the best Crabs, and Crab Cakes in the area. I've also located the most awesome Pizza. Now it's on to Steaks and this category has allot of good and bad to offer up.
What I look for in a Great Steak House to start is "does this joint have it's own butcher?"
That to me is important. It can be more important then the table service if the cuts of beef are the right portions, and the meat is from grass fed cows.
Next, is it plated with the properly prepared breads, potatos/Vegis & garnish? Also important. Yes I know you are there to get the protein, me too, but if the rest of the plate looks like a hot mess, then it takes away from the whole meal.
Lastly, but not at all least is the Restaurant service personnel.
All of them, not just my server.
I watch and experience the "team" work.
Does Management come by and greet the guests? Is there a smile on the Customer Host's face, or is he or she tolerating my existence so they can get through they're shift and go away?
How about my flatware and plates? Are they clean and warmed or cooled?
It's the little things that make a complete meal experience, and at today's price for 2, 3, or 4 for a dinner out, it matters.
In the next few Blog Posts, I am going to explore some of the places YOU suggest, as well as some of the ones I found myself so we can get a decent road map of where we can go to eat around here.
Send your suggestions and I will eat my way through them! :)
