Dade City Motorcyclist Dies In Head-On Crash

DADE CITY, FL -- A 31-year-old Dade City man has died following a crash Friday morning, June 22, at U.S. 98 and Stanton Hall Drive in Pasco County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 9:40 a.m., Floyd Williamson, 72, of Lakeland, was driving his 2007 Honda south on U.S. 98 just south of Stanton Hall Drive when he attempted to pass a car in front of him.

In the process of passing the car, Williamson struck a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by 31-year-old Dade City resident Daniel Joseph Reed. Reed was pronounced dead at the scene.

Williamson and the two passengers in his car, Loretta Williamson, 72, of Lakeland, and Mary Ann Gutierrez, 48, of Lyons, Ga., were taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
