Update: Land O' Lakes Apartment Fire Leaves 1 Injured

Four units in the 10-unit building were damaged.

A Tuesday morning 2-alarm fire at a Land O’ Lakes apartment complex has left one Pasco County deputy injured.

According to Pasco County spokesman Doug Tobin, the fire at 22701 Waters Edge Blvd., broke out around 9 a.m.Β The blaze damaged three apartments in the 10-unit building. A fourth home suffered smoke and water damage, Tobin said.

A total of 30 firefighters were called out to the scene.

While no resident injuries were reported, Tobin said a Pasco County deputy suffered smoke inhalation while helping with the evacuation. The deputy, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

The fire remains under investigation.
