Truck Fire Closed Suncoast Parkway Exit

The northbound exit ramp of the Suncoast Parkway at State Road 54 was closed for a time following a tractor-trailer fire early Wednesday afternoon.

Pasco County Fire Rescue officials say the truck was carrying 5,000 gallons of pool bleach when the incident occurred.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the truck experienced a mechanical issue and a fire broke out. The driver was able to escape the flames without injury.

The accident closed the northbound exit ramp from the Suncoast for several hours as the bleach was offloaded.
