1 Killed in State Road 52 Crash
A Palm Harbor man was killed in the two-vehicle wreck Monday morning.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL — A 46-year-old Palm Harbor man is dead following a Monday morning crash on State Road 52 in the Land O’ Lakes area.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man, who has not yet been identified, was heading east on State Road 52 just after 11 a.m. in a Volkswagen Passat. As the motorist passed east of Pasco Trails Boulevard, he, “for unknown reasons,” traveled into the westbound lane and into the path of an oncoming Mack truck. The truck was driven by William Earl Bailey, 52, of Port Saint Lucie, a highway patrol report said.
The two vehicles collided with the driver of the Volkswagen dying at the scene, the report noted.

The truck, which was carrying roof trusses, jackknifed, causing a road closing that lasted for several hours.
Bailey was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital with minor injuries, troopers noted.

No charges were filed.
