Foot Chase Leads To Arrest Of Accused Attacker

Deputy Andrew Pelletier chased the accused through the streets before catching him in a parking lot.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FLβ€”A man accused of assaulting a senior citizen has been apprehended, deputies said.

On Sunday, Dec. 3, Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies and Zephyrhills police received a tip regarding the whereabouts of Jason Cook, 45, who was wanted on two counts of aggravated assault on a senior citizen and
petit theft.

While investigating the area in Zephyrhills identified by the tipster, Deputy Andrew Pelletier saw a man matching Cook’s description. He repeatedly ordered the man to stop. Instead, the man began to run and Pelletier ran after him, pursuing him through a parking lot at 16th Avenue and 1st Street before finally catching him in a parking lot on Gall Boulevard east of North Avenue.
