Golf Tournament Fundraiser Supports University Area CDC and CANDO Community Programs
Organizations partner to host second annual tournament benefiting local resources.

TAMPA, Fla. – (April 29, 2015) – With 16.8 percent of Hillsborough County’s citizens living below the poverty level, many residents rely on programs from nonprofit organizations to help put food on the table, advance their education or assist with forging a career path. To continue providing these invaluable resources, the University Area Community Development Corporation (UACDC) and the Caribbean American National Development Organization (CANDO) are hosting the second annual Swing into Action! Golf Tournament fundraiser, Saturday, May 30, at Westchase Golf Club located at 11620 Westchase Golf Drive.
Tee-off is at 8 a.m. and lunch will be served after the tournament. All proceeds support programs benefiting children and families of the economically and socially vulnerable University area as well as the educational, cultural and workforce development programs of Tampa’s Caribbean community.
“This tournament gives golfers the opportunity to directly support programs that are making a difference in our community right now,” said UACDC Director of Development Ronnie Oliver. “This partnership between the UACDC and CANDO makes it possible to expand our reach to those who may be unaware of these programs that are available.”
