HUDSON, FL – A Hudson man is under arrest after throwing a small dog at a Pasco County Sheriff’s corporal and then repeatedly punching the law enforcement officer.

Pasco deputies were called to the home of Charles Litten, 53 at 10932 Song Lane, Hudson, on Jan. 19 at the request of Pasco County Fire Rescue, which had made multiple visits to the home throughout the night after receiving calls for assistance.

During one visit, fire rescue personnel noticed syringes and spoons in Litten’s bedroom. When Pasco County Sheriff’s Cpl. Ray Meddaugh arrived to detain Litten on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia, Litten threw his chihauhau dog at Meddaugh. The chihauhau bit Meddaugh on the hand but neither the dog or Meddaugh were injured. Litten then reportedly began punching Meddaugh, who was able to subdue him and take him to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
