The Republican announced his presidential candidacy Monday.

It’s official.

“The D.C. crowd talks about what’s wrong with America, I see what’s right,” Bush said on video just before making the announcement to a packed auditorium at Miami-Dade College. “The stakes for America’s future are just about as great as they come. Already the choice is taking shape.”
Bush went on to say the Democrats are offering a “progressive agenda that includes everything but progress. I for one am not eager to see what another four years would look like under that leadership.”

The country is “on a very bad course. I know we can fix this because I’ve done it,” he said, pointing to his experience as Florida’s governor. “We need a president who will disrupt the culture in Washington and I will be that president.”
Bush joins a wide field of other Republican candidates vying for the White House in 2016, including fellow Floridian U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, who announced his candidacy in April.
The Presidential Preference Primary Election is set for March 15, 2016, according to the Florida Department of State. The General Election takes place Nov. 8, 2016.
