Land O' Lakes High Aide Had Sex With 2 Students: Deputies

Pasco County deputies say the woman slept with a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL — A 35-year-old New Port Richey woman faces sexual battery charges after Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say she had sexual intercourse with two students from Land O’ Lakes High School.

The arrest of Melissa Lee Borsch was announced Friday just after noon. Deputies say she works as an instructional aide at Land O’ Lakes High School.

Borsch, an arrest report stated, became involved with a 15-year-old male student in her class and befriended the victim’s mother. She is accused of going to the teen’s home on April 30 when he was alone to have sex with him, the report said.

“The victim’s mother discovered the incident and in a recorded controlled phone call, (Borsch) admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim,” the arrest report said.

Borsch is also being charged with unlawful sexual activity for alleged relations with a 17-year-old Land O' Lakes High student. In that case, which was announced shortly after the first, Borsch is accused of sleeping with a boy who was spending the night at the same Wesley Chapel home where she was staying on May 3. An arrest report said Borsch admitted to that encounter in a recorded phone call, as well.

Borsch was being booked into the Land O’ Lakes Jail Friday afternoon on both charges.

Pasco County Schools spokeswoman Linda Cobbe said Borsch has been suspended from duties with pay until the school board meets May 17. Only the school board, she said, can suspend an employee without pay.

No further information is available at this time.
