Lutz Man Killed in Wesley Chapel Crash

A 38-year-old Lutz man is dead following a crash on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard Monday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 10:51 p.m. when a Toyota Camry driven by Jordan Ashley Leitheiser was heading north on Bruce B. Downs, just north of Mystic Oaks Boulevard in the outside lane. Leitheiser didn’t notice slow-moving traffic ahead and struck a motorized scooter driven by Jonathan Edward Kaba, an email from the patrol said.

Kaba was ejected from the scooted and died at the scene.

Charges are pending.
