Man Dies After State Road 54 Crash
The man reportedly suffered a medical emergency before the three-vehicle collision occurred.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — A 53-year-old Wesley Chapel man injured in a Jan. 2 crash on State Road 54 has died, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say Scott Wesley Gordon was heading eastbound on S.R. 54 around 8:45 a.m. in the inside lane near Wildpine Boulevard when he suffered a medical emergency. A Chevrolet Malibu, driven by James Montagot, 44, of Wesley Chapel was directly ahead of Gordon’s Kia Spectra. At the time, a third vehicle, a Hyundai Sonata, driven by Aung Tun, 55, of Tampa was also heading eastbound in the center lane.
Gordon, a highway patrol report said, experienced a medical emergency and lost control of his car, striking the right rear of Montagot’s Spectra. The Spectra was pushed into the path of the Sonata, causing the two vehicles to also collide.
