Noted Author, Blogger, and Journalist Javier Manjarres Speaks to the Wesley Chapel Republican Club.

Last night, Javier Manjarres known for his intuitive fearless perspective shared his views concerning the state of Hispanic politics with the Wesley Chapel Republican Club. Referring to his new book, “Brown People: Hispanic Politics and the Disunited State of Amigos,” Javier entertained the group with stories about himself, his parents, and the Hispanic communities he grew up in. He passionately revealed the common goals of the Hispanic community and their desire to live and prosper in America. “Like any American,” Javier said, “Hispanics revere God, family, and prosperity, in that order!” The desire to achieve the American Dream is alive in those that choose to embrace it, according to Manjarres. He urged the group to engage Hispanics and have a conversation. “Sometimes,” Manjarres said, “Words are confusing, for instance democracia (democracy) and democrat. Many Hispanics believe that those words are synonymous.” Let them know that the Republican values are in harmony with Hispanic values. In reference to the way the Republican Party treats immigrants Javier said, “People especially the Republican party miss the mark. This is not about immigration reform. That is the narrative that the Democrats and liberal leftists want you to believe because that’s a winning issue for them.” Javier conceded that not all immigrants have the best intentions; the rise in crime in the Border States is proof. The need for closing the borders is long past due and the nation’s security depends on it. Although Javier Manjarres’ discussion was humorous and entertaining, his message to the Club was a serious one. He and his book urge every American to take a look at immigration in the scope of what exists now.
