Only 1 Tampa Bay High School Makes Florida's Top 10 List

U.S. News & World Report has released its 2015 rankings with only one local school named among the state's best.

The folks at U.S. News & World Report have once again released their lists of the best high schools in the nation and within all 50 states.

When all was said and done only one Tampa Bay area school made the organization’s Top 10 list for the state of Florida. Those honors go to Pine View School in Osprey with No. 3 standing in the state and a No. 24 ranking nationally.

U.S. News awards schools with gold, silver and bronze medal status to indicate college readiness. To be included in state rankings, schools must receive a silver or gold medal from the organization. Rankings are based on such factors as student performance on state high school proficiency tests, disadvantaged student performance and college-readiness performance based on scores from Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams, among other factors.
