The district, however, says it is monitoring the progress of a tropical depression moving toward the Tampa Bay area. Tropical storm warnings have been issued for the entire region as the storm is expected to increase in strength before its arrival in the area.
As of Sunday afternoon, the district said all schools are expected to open as planned. If the district changes the status, updates will be issued on its website and Facebook page. Parents will also receive robocalls notifying of any change in status.

While the district plans to open schools on schedule, it is asking students and staff to dress for foul weather. In addition, it is warning residents of West Pasco's flood-prone areas to be extra cautious.
Pasco County emergency management officials anticipate the storm’s arrival on Monday will bring heavy rain to the region. Flooding is expected in some parts of the county, especially on the western side where flooding has been experienced in the past.
