10-Year-Old Boy Shot In Head In Dade City: Deputies

Deputies say two children, a 10-year-old and a 9-year-old, were left alone at a home on Old Sparkman Road when the older child was shot.

DADE CITY, FL – The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office say that a 10-year-old boy was shot in the head Monday afternoon in the 38800 block of Old Sparkman Road in Dade City. The shooting appears to be accidental, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff’s office received the call at 2:57 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18. Deputies say two children, a 10-year-old and a 9-year-old, were left alone at a home on Old Sparkman Road when the older child was accidentally shot while playing with a firearm. The boy was alert and talking while on his way to a local hospital.
