Lumberton Man Fatally Shot After Shooting At Deputies
The Lumberton man who was shot Thursday night by Pasco Sheriff's deputies has died.
DADE CITY, FL -- A Lumberton man was fatally shot by Pasco County Sheriff's deputies Thursday, June 28, after pointing a gun at deputies.
Dispatch received a call at 6:32 p.m. from a man claiming his roommate at Many Mansion RV Park, 40703 Stewart Road, Dade City, was suicidal and had taken 100 pills. When deputies arrived, the reportedly suicidal roommate, James Palmquist, 54, walked out of the mobile home, shouted a profanity and fired a shot toward deputies.
Deputies returned fire and shot Palmquist. He was taken to an area hospital where he subsequently died.

The two Pasco Sheriff's Office deputies involved in the shooting were Sgt. Chad Tadlock who has been with Pasco since, 2000 and Deputy Aaron Ziegler, who has been a deputy in Pasco County since 2007. Neither deputy was injured in the incident. The deputies will be placed on paid, administrative leave as is protocol.This investigation is ongoing.
