Pasco Detectives Arrest Couple Accused Of Beating Holiday Man

The accused New Port Richey man claims he beat the victim in self-defense.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL-A New Port Richey couple accused of beating a Holiday man after breaking into his home on Monday were apprehended Wednesday morning.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Molly Jean Dodson, 25, and Shane Lee Parham Sr., 44, of 7845 Bolam Ave., New Port Richey, have been charged with burglary with aggravated battery in connection with a home invasion and assault at 2034 Speck Drive, Holiday.

The victim, Henry Bereks, told deputies that the couple forced their way into his home, demanded money and threatened to kill him. Bereks said Parham then began punching and pistol whipping him. When Bereks began struggling, he said the handgun discharged, firing a bullet into the kitchen cabinets. At that point, Bereks said Parham held him down with a knee on his chest and Dodson began hitting him.

Dodson was arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop. A short time later, sheriff’s detectives arrested Parham as he was leaving his home on a motorcycle.

Parham admitted he went to Bereks’ home and demanded money he was owed. But Parham said it was Bereks who produced the handgun and fired a shot at him. He claimed the beating was in self-defense.
