Pasco Flood Warning Extended
Residents are warned of the potential for more heavy rain as Monday continues.

The National Weather Service has extended its flood warning for Pasco County until 4:30 p.m. Monday. A flood watch also remains in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Warnings are issued when flooding is already occurring or is imminent. The warning area covers such communities as New Port Richey, Land O’ Lakes and Lutz.
The flood warning for Pasco was initially set to expire at 11:30 a.m., but continued rains have prompted the extension. According to the weather service, 3 to 7 inches of rain have already fallen in the area with additional rains anticipated.

Motorists are being urged to use extreme caution on local roadways as flooding has forced evacuations in some areas, including along the Anclote River in the Elfers area.
Rain is expected to continue into Tuesday at least.
