Pasco Toddler's Drowning Death Under Investigation

SPRING HILL, FL — The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the drowning death of a 2-year-old child Tuesday evening.

According to the agency, the toddler and a 6-year-old sibling were playing in their yard in the 14900 block of Little Ranch Road in Spring Hill Tuesday evening when the drowning occurred.

“(The) parents heard the older child screaming and found the younger child in an above-ground pool on the premises,” an email from the sheriff’s office said.

The child was taken by Pasco County Fire Rescue to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m.

Deputies have not released the name of the child, nor have they said whether it’s a boy or a girl.

No further information is being released at this time.
