Perdue Chicken Nugget Recall Includes Florida
More than 4,500 pounds of chicken nuggets are being recalled across several states, including Florida.

Tampa Bay area fans of Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets might want to check their freezers. Perdue Foods has announced the recall of 4,530 pounds of nuggets that may be contaminated with plastic.
The recall was announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. The potentially contaminated nuggets were sold in 8-ounce boxed packages that contain about 18 pieces each.
The “Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets” under the recall all have a Best Before Date of 9/27/2016. They also have an establishment number of “P-2617,” according to the USDA.

“The problem was discovered when the establishment received consumer complaints of small, solid, clear plastic inside the Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets,” the USDA explained in a media release. “There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.”
The products from the Gainesville, Ga., company were shipped to retail distribution centers in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York and Texas.

Anyone who has purchased these products is asked to refrain from eating them. The packages should be returned to the place of purchase or thrown away.
