Pro-Clinton Ad Targets Trump's Insults About Women

The women wear oversized T-shirts with Donald Trump’s face on them and lip sync some of his more inflammatory statements about women: the “blood coming out of her wherever” remark about Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, the “fat ass” comment about Kim Kardashian, and the super-creepy, “If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

It’s a new TV ad from pro-Clinton super-PAC Priorities USA Action, set to start airing Wednesday in the key battleground states of Florida, Nevada, Ohio, and Virginia.

The Clinton campaign has also produced several general election web ads, including one a month ago that sounded similar themes.

But this is the first major TV ad buy in which the parties are duking it out against each other, instead of against their primary competitors. It signals the eagerness of the Clinton camp to wrap up her primary battle against Bernie Sanders, whose path to the nomination is mathematically impossible but who still keeps winning primaries.

A second TV ad set to be released by Priorities USA Action invokes similar themes, right down to the same Megyn Kelly quote. It also highlights his pledge to cut funding for Planned Parenthood and his support for “some form of punishment” for women who have abortions.

Trump is hitting back with angry tweets using his new epithet for his general election opponent: Crooked Hillary.

Priorities USA has raised $67 million for this election and has only spent $23 million, as of its last report on March 31. That leaves a lot of cash left over for a lot more negative ads.

Swing state residents: You’ve been warned. Expect a lot more of this until November.
