Sarasota Armed Robbery Suspect May Have Died in Brooksville
The man shot and killed following a Tuesday robbery in Hernando County has been named the main suspect in a Sarasota case.

SARASOTA, FL – A 29-year-old man who died following a Tuesday armed robbery at a Brooksville Dollar General store is the main suspect in the Sarasota Police Department’s investigation of an armed robbery at a Subway restaurant.
Sarasota police announced the possible connection Wednesday.
Michael Hilber was shot and killed by Hernando deputies shortly after the noon robbery on Tuesday. A second suspect in that robbery managed to flee the scene, but was brought into custody Wednesday. The second suspect’s name has not been released as of yet. Few details about Tuesday’s events have been released by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

While Hilber has been tied to the Monday afternoon robbery of the 1154 N. Washington Blvd. Subway in Sarasota, police say the investigation remains open.
