Serial Burglar Targeting Churches, Deputies Say

The crime spree began at the start of July in eastern Pasco County.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is looking for some help closing the books on a string of church burglaries that began on July 1.

A single suspect has been described in the spree that has involved break-ins in the late night and early morning hours. So far, the same suspect has been connected to burglaries at these churches:

  • Chancey Road Christian Church, 34921 Chancey Road, Zephyrhills, between July 1-2
  • Temple Baptist Church, 37523 Clinton Ave., Dade City, on July 12
  • Darby Community Church, 14745 Bellamy Brothers Blvd., San Antonio, between July 11 and 12
  • First Congregational Church, 7900 Fort King Road, Zephyrhills, between July 11-12
  • Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 9016 Fort King Road, Dade City, between July 11-12
  • Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5626 20th St., Zephyrhills, between July 2-4
  • Church of the Living Word, 5220 10th St., Zephyrhills, between July 3-5
  • Pentecostal Church of Acts, 5840 18th St., Zephyrhills, between July 8-12
  • Faith Baptist Church, 38634 County Road 54, Zephyrhills, between July 9-10

Several of the burglaries are being investigated by the Zephyrhills Police Department in addition to Pasco sheriff’s detectives.
