Shots Fired at Pasco Deputies

No injuries were reported.

Just one week after a fatal shooting of a Tarpon Springs Police officer, two Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies found themselves under fire.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incident unfolded around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in Dade City. The two deputies were each inside their own cruisers in the parking lot of Northside Baptist Church, 37047 Lock St., watching the intersection, when three shots were fired at them.

No one was hit.

Both deputies said they heard the whizzing sound of bullets flying by, but did not see the suspect or the vehicle from which the shots came from.

Area residents also reported hearing the shots and said there was a small, dark-colored vehicle with tinted windows in the area at the time of the incident.
