State of the Union Watch Parties Planned for Tonight
Supporters of President Obama plan to gather at more than 2,500 sites across the country to watch the annual address. Two locations are in the Tampa Bay area.

While many people watch the State of the Union address in the comfort of their own homes, some supporters of President Barack Obama intend to turn the event into a party of sorts.
More than 2,500 βwatch partiesβ are planned across the country for this eveningβs 9 p.m. address β two are scheduled for the Tampa Bay area.
According to a media release from the Obama Biden campaign, the parties are meant to bring supporters together not only to hear the Presidentβs βvision, priorities and important policies for the year,β but also to prepare them for the work ahead in the upcoming election.

There are two watch parties planned in the Tampa area for the address β one in Largo and the other in Tampa. Both take place at private homes.
The address will air live on most major television networks starting at 9 p.m. tonight, Jan. 24. It will also stream live on the White Houseβs website.
