Thieves Make Off With Copper Wire At Pasco Power Facility
Pasco County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the theft of scrap copper wiring from a Duke Energy substation.

PORT RICHEY, FL β Pasco County Sheriffβs deputies are investigating the theft of scrap copper wiring from the Duke Energy Substation at 8105 Ridge Road, Port Richey.
On Monday, Aug. 8, deputies were called to the substation after employees discovered the burglary. Deputies say someone cut a chain-link fence surrounding the substation during the early morning hours of Jan. 8. The thief or thieves then made off with 300 pounds of scrap copper wiring from metal bins inside the substation. The copper is worth more than $1,000 on the resale market.
